USF Green Campus

The Campus Food Waste Recovery Project at the University of South Florida is a project that is led by an interdisciplinary group of students and guided by faculty and staff from multiple colleges and departments at USF. The project is funded by the USF Student Green Energy Fund and its goals were to increase food recovery, reduce food waste on campus and encourage students to recycle. As a content creator for SAGO, I was responsible for creating designs for social media, posters and stickers.

Social Media

The Campus Food Waste Recovery Project's main objective was to raise awareness of their project among students and encourage food waste reduction. At the time most students were living and learning off-campus due to COVID-19  and were mainly utilizing digital platforms. To aid our client's efforts, I created trendy infographics to be shared as carousel posts on Instagram.

Below are the infographics I presented to my creative director. They were displayed on USF Green Campus Instagram summer of 2020.

Food Waste Reduction Posters

The Campus Food Waste Recovery Project client also requested a print advertising campaign to educate students on how they can reduce their food waste behaviors. Our creative team suggested to inform students through flyers that would hang in dining halls and other relevant on-campus locations. For the campaign, our creative director tasked us with creating posters that would encourage students to waste less food.

For the campaign, I used hyperboles to illustrate how students can be active participants in reducing food waste.

In the campaign, I revamped the hashtag #LoveFoodHateWaste from the project's outreach program for the poster. The hashtag was used in the final renditions of poster designs which we presented to the client for approval.

Recycling Stickers & Posters

Later in the campaign, The Campus Food Waste Recovery Project client asked our team to incorporate recycling awareness into our print ads and requested an updated version of their Recycle-A-Bull stickers and posters to educate students on where they can recycle their items. The sticker would be used on flyers hung over bins or physically placed on bins in relevant on-campus locations.

In the campaign, I designed several renditions of stickers and posters that were presented to the client.
